What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenver you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though. - J. D. Salinger
Three Brothers is coming along. I'm about halfway through, but unfortunately, I'm at 85,000 words. Translated, that's about 385 pages. So, it looks like it'll be two volumes, since I'm only at Fall 1942. Yes, there will be LOTS of cutting, but I think to cover the whole war for all three men, it'll take around 175,000 words.
Against All Enemies is complete! The final, final, master has gone to the formatter one more time to make sure she's happy with it, then it goes to the "printer." In a few weeks I'll order the Advance Reader Copies (ARC). I'll send a few out to some folks who wanted hard copies to review. I'll use BookSprout, an online tool, to send soft copies (ebooks) out to those who wanted them. What are they reviewing? They're looking for errors from the printer. And they've agreed to leave reviews at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and some other sites. Reviews are NOT hard. They don't require any knowledge of writing, publishing, or naval operations. They just require that you write whether or not you enjoyed the book. I'll put together a guide on writing a review. If you want to be an ARC reader, please let me know ASAP!
